Year of first medical qualification: 2001
John gained his BSc in Physiotherapy in 2001 having previously studied psychology and biochemistry to degree level. He completed rotations in general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, intensive care, elderly care and musculoskeletal outpatients at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.
John then gained a senior post in outpatients at Farnham Hospital, where he developed a Back Rehabilitation Class. During this time, he gained experience in treating acute and chronic conditions as well as rehabilitation from sporting injuries and orthopaedic procedures.
In 2006, John gained the diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine and he is also qualified to practice acupuncture. He has an interest in soft tissue treatments, particularly myofascial release and trigger point therapy. He has completed courses in managing shoulder problems and this has become a particular interest of his.
John moved to Spire Clare Park Hospital, Farnham, in May 2008 where he now works both with inpatients and outpatients.
