Ann is the Physiotherapy Manager at Spire Clare Park Hospital in Farnham on the border of Surrey and Hampshire. In addition to managing the department, she holds both a clinical inpatient and outpatient role.
Ann qualified from the Oswestry School of Physiotherapy, a world renowned orthopaedic hospital in 1985. Prior to moving to Spire Clare Park, Ann managed the physiotherapy department at the Lord Mayor Treloar Orthopaedic Hospital in Alton.
Ann specialised in outpatients, subsequently attending a large variety of courses to consolidate and build her knowledge in this field, including those run by the MACP. She is skilled in the treatment of sports injuries, the manipulation of lumbar and thoracic spines, and has practised acupuncture for the past 18 years, using it as an adjunct to her manual skills.
Ann is a qualified Pilate's instructor and teaches regular classes locally in Farnham, Surrey. She incorporates the core-stability aspects into one-to-one treatments.
Her particular interest is in knees. Ann works closely with Mr Hugh Chissell, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, as a Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Practitioner. In this role, Ann reviews post-operative arthroscopies, ACL reconstructions, as well as post-operative total knee and total hip replacements. Upon review, Ann is able to give physiotherapy and post-surgical advice tailored to the patient's individual needs.
Ann has recently trained in the use of Be Activated techniques to improve posture and assist in stress management.
