A woman in her 20’s is diagnosed with the most serious form of skin cancer almost every day, experts have warned. Cancer Research UK has reported that around 340 women aged 20-29 were diagnosed with potentially deadly malignant melanoma in the UK in 2005, up from 220 in 2003. The overuse of sunbeds and over-exposure to sunlight has led to it being the most common cancer in young women. For women in their 30s, deadly skin cancer is now the third most common cancer after that of the breast and cervix. The key to fighting skin cancer, particularly the most serious form, is early detection.
