Mr Da Silva trained in vascular surgery in Liverpool, Chester and Paris. He is an ex research fellow of the Vascular Surgical Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

He has published papers in the British Journal of Surgery, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and The Journal of Diabetic Medicine on peripheral vascular disease, carotid surgery, aneurysmal and venous disease. To date he has published book chapters on imaging of the leg bypass grafts and diagnosis of venous disease.

More recently, Mr Da Silva has become a trainer for his colleagues for endovenous laser treatment and surgery at his NHS hospital in Wrexham.

Mr Da Silva lives in Wrexham with his wife Alison (and two cats) jointly they have interests in world wide travel, jazz and latin music. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and cooking, especially portuguese dishes, and in keeping with the enjoyment of latin music, likes salsa and rumba dancing, and playing the saxophone. His greatest passion is photography, no holiday is complete without at least five cameras!!!
