Mr Bregu completed his medical education in Turin Italy in 2002. During his medical education he studied as an exchange student at the University of Maastricht in Netherlands and in Sweden University of Linkoping. These early experiences helped him develop an open attitude towards change.
After his medical education and Ophthalmology training at the Faculty of Medicine in Turin Italy he completed a year of Fellowship on Cornea in Milan Italy.
Following this Mr Bregu moved to the UK where he worked as a registrar in the Leicester rotation for two years.
Mr Bregus first fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology was in Newcastle. This was followed by a second fellowship in Adult Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology in Manchester.
His main area of expertise is Adult Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology but he enjoys seeing patients with a broad spectrum of eye conditions.
Mr Bregu performs a range of ophthalmic surgical procedures ranging from cataract surgery, pterygium removal (a pterygium is fleshy tissue that grows in a triangular shape over the cornea), childhood lid procedures including treatment for nasolacrimal duct obstruction (tear duct obstruction), squint surgery in children and adults, botulinum toxin for treatment of facial spasms and squints.
