Dr Richard Warren, Consultant Dermatologist at Spire Cheshire Hospital has recently featured in a Daily Mail health article about psoriasis.
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder that usually develops between the ages of 20 and 25, the cause of the condition is unknown and treatment usually involves ointments to soothe dry, cracked and scaly skin.
Dr Warren has led a recent study on a new therapy called Ustekinumab, which is proving to be very effective. The study was carried out by the University of Manchester and Salford Royal Hospital and it showed that half the patients tested had seen a 75% improvement in their condition after three months
