Demand to be treated in our hospital is growing and to facilitate this we have invested £2.5 million in a new state of the art imaging suite equipped with the very latest MRI scanner to complement our existing radiology services.
“The quality of the images we are able to produce with this MRI scanner is greatly enhanced enabling us to deliver a faster, more accurate and detailed diagnosis,” said Dr Mark Caplan, Consultant Radiologist at Spire Cheshire Hospital.
“It’s also a much more comfortable experience for the patient. There’s considerably less noise and the wider magnetic bore creates a more spacious environment, which is a major benefit for people who feel uncomfortable in enclosed spaces.
“The unique coil design also means we can scan several different areas of the body at the same time, shortening the entire scanning process,” he said.
“Because of our reputation for clinical excellence and our proximity to the M56, M6 and M62, this service will attract patients from a wide area,” said Alison da Silva, Hospital Director. “Currently no other private hospital in the area has a dedicated, fixed MRI scanner. Instead they depend on intermittent, mobile services which have limitations in terms of availability and the type of conditions they can scan.”
