Patient shapes differ on the inside as much as they do on the outside, so with this in mind Spire Cheshire Hospital is pleased to add personalised knee replacements to its range of treatments.
Total knee replacement will potentially have better long term results

At Spire Cheshire Hospital we offer the Signature™ personalised knee replacement performed by Mr Nikhil Pradhan.
The Zimmer PSI knee replacement is performed by:
Mr Mike McNicholas
Mr Paul Sherry.
Spire Cheshire Hospital is proud to announce that Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons Mr Nikhil Pradhan and Mr Paul Sherry have performed the most patient specific knee replacements in the United Kingdom.
How it works
This ground breaking surgery, provides more of a custom fit knee, specifically for you, regardless of age, race, size or gender.
The personalised total knee replacements use MRI and computer technology to create a mould of your knee prior to surgery to help accurately size and align the replacement knee in accordance with your knee geometry. This enables the surgeon to create a detailed pre-operative surgery plan, tailored to your specific requirements.
Your MRI scan is then used to create a customised new knee jig, which allows for an exact fit which is near impossible to duplicate with a traditional knee replacement. A better aligned total knee replacement will potentially have better long term results and the less invasive procedure can help to reduce pain and recovery time.
The personalised knee surgery
This less invasive surgical procedure, is similar to a traditional knee replacement but without the requirement to place instruments inside the thigh and shin bone to assist with alignment and positioning. This can significantly effect the outcome of the procedure by reducing medical complications and long term loosening rates.
Patients may therefore benefit from reduced blood loss and complications such as fat embolisms minimising their stay in hospital and increasing their rate of recovery.
