I qualified at Bristol University in 1982. Following junior house posts in Plymouth. I undertook general surgical training in Taunton and Leicester. My early training in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery was in the North West under Professor Stell at the Royal Liverpool and Alder Hey Hospitals. Registrar training was completed in Dundee and Middlesborough followed by clinical lecturer post in the Institute of Otology and Laryngology at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital with Professor Wright. I was a senior registrar in Aberdeen, which included a year as clinical tutor in Dunedin, New Zealand and a clinical attachment in Great Ormond Hospital for sick children, London. I commenced my first consultant post in Blackpool in 1997 moving to Warrington in 2000.

My main interests include rhinology, medical and surgical aspects, including FESS (endoscopic examination of sinus). I have a special interest in open or external rhinoplasty and facial tumours. I also have an interest in salivary gland surgery, surgery of chronic ear disease and treatment of snoring. In collaboration with the ophthalmology department in Blackpool, I set up the endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) service (tear duct restructure) for the treatment of epiphora (watery eyes) and dacryocystitis (inflammation of duct). In addition, I undertake a wide variety of general adult and paediatric ENT surgery.

I am married to Gail and have two children, Anisha aged 11 and Kiran aged 6. My interests include computers and sport (spectator only). My aim is to be able to swing a golf club.
I hope to provide a high quality clinical service to the population of Warrington and North Cheshire. I am happy to personally discuss any aspect of patient care or clinical developments with GPs.
