Professional profile:
I am a fully trained general surgeon, who spent twelve months in full time colorectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic in the USA in 1986 and twelve months in endocrine surgery in Cardiff in 1988. Current clinical practice revolves around colorectal surgery (main interest in the management of colorectal cancer) and the management of inflammatory bowel disease (particularly pouch surgery in colitis). Major commitment to endoscopy, with a significant practice in parathyroid exploration.
Personal profile:
I was a senior lecturer in surgery between 1989 - 1992. My current interests are in the organisation of provision of surgical services and in surgical training. I was a surgical tutor in Warrington Hospital for five years in the past. I am married with three daughters and two dogs! My outside interests are tennis and attempting to stay fit.
