He graduated in 1995 and trained first in general internal medicine for 4 years obtaining his MD degree. Sibsequently he trained in neurology for 7 years in the UK, India and most recently in the USA (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota) obtaining three further degrees whilst working and learning from several of the world's most eminent neurologists.

He has written several research articles and book chapters and continues to do research, he is also an honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool.
