'Friendly faces' is a new service that aims to offer support and reassurance to patients during their stay in hospital. The two friendly face volunteers are retired clinical staff, Vi Welch and Gill Houghton, who have both worked at Spire Cheshire Hospital for a number of years.
Vi and Gill visit patients during their stay at the hospital and are able to sit and have a chat or answer any questions or queries that they may have. As former clinical staff they understand how patients may be feeling and are able to offer their support and guidance.
Andrew Eadsforth, Hospital Director said "Our friendly face volunteers play a vital role in supporting and reassuring our patients. Both Vi and Gill have proved to be very popular with our patients and we are very pleased to have them back at the hospital."
