Spire Cheshire Hospital invited children from Year 3 to submit drawings on the theme of staying fit and healthy throughout the year to illustrate their official calendar.
Given recent Government initiatives to promote health and wellbeing, part of the incentive behind the art initiative was to encourage children think about what it means to be fit and healthy and how they would represent this in artwork.
Drawings were chosen to represent a range of activities and have been used to produce striking A4 and A5 format calendars for Spire Cheshire Hospital for distribution to GPs and other health professionals throughout the Cheshire area.
In addition, Spire produced and donated 200 calendars to the school to sell for school funds.
Andrew Eadsforth, Hospital Director at Spire Cheshire Hospital said: “It has been an enjoyable and very worthwhile project for us. It has helped us to build links with the local community, as well as impart a message to younger children about what it means to be fit and healthy.”
