Cervical cancer vaccine clinic

Spire Cheshire Hospital is offering the Gardisil vaccine to young girls that would protect them from most forms of cervical cancer and also helps prevent genital warts and pre-cancerous cervical lesions.

The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a common virus passed on through sexual contact. There are many strains of this virus and they can cause such conditions as cervical cancer in women and genital warts in both men and women.

Every year 3,000 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed in Britain and three women under 44 die from the disease every day. The vaccine, which is administered in three doses and protects against the human papilloma virus (HPV), has to be given before a woman is sexually active for it to be effective.

Anyone interested in getting the vaccine should contact Spire Cheshire Hospital on 01925 215029 or complete our online enquiry form.
