Dr Fong Leong was appointed Consultant Cardiologist in Cardiff in 2009. He qualified at the University of Leeds, and subsequently gained a PhD from the same institution. He trained in Cardiology, in Cambridge, and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA.
Dr Leong specialises in the management of heart rhythm problems, including the use of catheter ablation to treat arrhythmias. He has a particular interest in atrial fibrillation ablation, and leads the complex arrhythmia ablation programme in South Wales. He also implants pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronisation devices for heart failure.
