Mr Pugh qualified in University of Wales College of Medicine 1972 and undertook his post graduate training at Academic Unit University of Cape Town South Africa, University Hospital of Wales Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.
Mr Pugh was appointed Consultant Gynaecologist at Royal Glamorgan Hospital in 1984 and has over 36 years of extensive experience in gynaecological surgery. Mr Pugh pioneered the use of minimal access laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery in Wales.
Mr Pugh's interests include aspects of benign gynaecological surgery, pelvic pain / endometriosis and pelvic floor reconstruction (with and without the use of mesh).
Mr Pugh is Lead Colposcopist and Director of Specialist Menopause Clinic, Preceptor for benign and laparoscopic surgery for the RCOG, Examiner for the RCOG, and Mr Pugh was President - Welsh Obstetric and Gynaecological Society 2010-2011.
