Dr Mullaney was appointed as a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist to the University Hospital of Wales in July 2007. He trained as a medical student in Nottingham and worked in several orthopaedic centres of excellence as a surgical trainee before starting his radiology career. After initial radiological training in Leicester, he worked for a year in Toronto as a Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellow. Whilst there he gained extensive experience in all aspects of Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic imaging and treatment, including cutting edge techniques that are now starting to become available in the UK.
He was a diagnostic radiologist for all of Toronto's professional sports teams, a part of the supra-regional bone tumour service and has presented work at several international conferences.
His interests are in all aspects of MR imaging, including imaging of joint replacements and sports injuries, as well as early arthritis imaging.
