Chest physician with experience across the range of chest (lung, respiratory) diseases seen in the UK. Special experience in tuberculosis and lung disease caused by opportunist mycobacteria. Previous Honorary Secretary of the British Thoracic Society, previous Chairman of it's Research Committee and President in 2003. Over 25 years experince in running multi-centre clinical trials. Trustee of the Britain Nepal Medical Trust.

Personal profile:

I am married with three grown-up, married children. My wife is a magistrate and was previously Chairman of the Vale of Glamorgan Community Health Council.

I enjoy watching rugby, tennis and cricket but no longer play. Other recreations include hill walking, eating out, wine, reading, conventional opera and music.
