I qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff with a Medical Degree in 1986. I performed my basic surgical training in Cardiff after my house jobs from 1987 to 1989.
I performed my specialist Orthopaedic training in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne between 1989 and 1995. In 1995 I performed a specialist lower limb joint replacement fellowship in Chicago, USA.
I have a broad experience in most aspects of trauma.
My main area of expertise is total hip and knee replacement surgery including resurfacing hip replacement.
I am a Consultamt Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant with a specialist in interest in lower limb joint replacement surgery, particularly of the hip.
I hold the role of Honorary Clinical Tutor at the Cardiff School of Medicine for my involvement in undergraduate education.
I was brought up in March, Cambridgeshire, but have returned to my family roots. I am married, with four children, three dogs and seven horses.
I have recently cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats in nine days, averaging 110 miles a day.
For charity I will be running the London Marathon. I previously ran it in 1984 and 1991.
