I qualified in London and carried out my ophthalmic training at St Thomas' Hospital, London, Southampton Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. I was appointed as Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University Hospital of Wales in 1992 and was Clinical Director of the Cardiff Eye Unit, between 1994 and 1998. I have been an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists since 1995, and also Regional Advisor since 2001.

I practice general ophthalmology with particular interests in cataract surgery, squints, neuro-ophthalmology, and botulinum toxin treatment.
