    Background Information
    Professional profile:
At Spire Cardiff Hospital, I normally provide a one-stop breast service in conjunction with my colleague Dr Kate Gower-Thomas (a leading expert breast radiologist). Our aim is to provide rapid, accurate and sympathetic diagnosis. We work in a multidisciplinary team that provides all facets of clinical management, from specialist counselling to surgical and other treatments. The cosmetic surgical techniques I provide include reduction, augmentation and reshaping aesthetic techniques, leading to the best and maximal use of breast conserving cancer surgery, together with a range of reconstructions when mastectomy is occasionally required.

I have been working as a surgeon for nearly 30 years. After breast surgical and cancer research at The Institute of Cancer Research and Royal Marsden Hospital, I became Clinical Lecturer in Surgery at Imperial College School of Medicine and then Senior Registrar at University College and The Middlesex Hospitals, London.
I returned to S Wales as a consultant in 1994. At the Royal Glamorgan Hospital I have built up and lead a very busy and go-ahead Breast Unit that now treats about 1/3 of the screen-detected breast cancers in Wales.

In addition to breast surgery, I am a fully trained vascular and general surgeon and continue to operate on a wide range of conditions.
    Personal profile:
Originally from Ceredigion, my interests include classical music and playing the piano. I enjoy gardening, sailing and skiing and continue to play squash (occasionally for a local team).
