Mr Kumar qualified in medicine in India and had General Surgical training in India and Wales.

He spent two years in London, Ontario, Canada training in Liver Transplantation and Liver Surgery. He then trained in Hepatobiliary Surgery in Birmingham and Kings College Hospital, London.

He has special Interests in Surgery for Liver Tumors especially Metastasis, Bile Duct injury and Hernia repairs.

Mr Kumar developed the liver surgery service in Wales and heads the only liver unit in Wales. This unit serves a population of 2 million and provides all their liver surgical needs. This unit is accredited and the results are similar to any reputed centre in the world.
