Professional profile:
I qualified at Guy's Hospital in 1990 and then trained in general and colorectal surgery in Cardiff, London and Oxford. After completing my training in Oxford, I spent a year as a clinical fellow in colorectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA.

I was appointed as a colorectal and general surgeon in Cardiff in September 2005. I currently manage patients at UHW and Llandough Hospital. I am involved in the management of the full spectrum of malignant and benign colorectal conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, rectal prolapse and anorectal problems. I have an active role in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy. I also undertake elective general surgical procedures including hernia repair and manage general surgical emergencies.
Personal profile:
I have spent time in a number of different parts of the UK during my training and have been fortunate to travel to other countries including India and the USA. Now that I have returned to my home town of Cardiff, I enjoy following rugby and taking part in activities with my young family.
