Alun Tomkinson is a consultant ENT surgeon based at the University Hospital of Wales. He is a widely experienced adult and paediatric ENT surgeon with a sub-specialty interest in head and neck cancer. He also has a key role in the education of medical students in Wales, and is regularly publishing research across a broad range of topics. His expertise has been used by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), the Department of Health, the Welsh Assembly Government, the National Patient Safety Agency, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and more.
