Background Information 
Professional profile:
Having trained in Wales and Merseyside, I sought specific experience in the United States to develop my interests in hernia repair under local anaesthetic, laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. I have evaluated the new technique of stapled haemorroidectomy over the past two years and have been actively involved in teaching other consultants around the UK. Stapled haemorrhoidectomy is less painful than excisional haemorrhoidectomy and results in quicker return to normal activity.
Personal profile:
I am very much a family man and try to give my wife and two children their fair share of my time. My hobbies include following Liverpool Football Club, playing five-a-side football and I have obtained a brown belt in Karate (black in 2003!). I consider myself a dedicated professional who puts patients before politics.
