Professional profile:
I qualified in 1981 from the Welsh National School of Medicine. After my pre-registration year in Swansea (Singleton Hospital) and Cardiff (CRI and Llandough) I went straight into anaesthetics. After spending my pre and post fellowship times in Cardiff, Newport and Stuttgart, I was appointed to a consultant post in 1993 at East Glamorgan Hospital and have been the lead in the development of Chronic Pain Management services there and at the new Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant.
