    Background Information
    Professional profile:
I qualified at the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1988 and entered the Welsh Radiology Training scheme in 1991, having first become a member of The Royal College of Physicians(UK). Between October 1996 and September 2001, I was a Consultant Radiologist at Singleton Hospital Swansea before returning to Cardiff as a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Gastrointestinal Disease. I set up the Endoscopic Ultrasound services at both Singleton Hospital and University Hospital of Wales, and was the first in the UK to perform endoscopic ultrasound biopsy guided having initially trained in France. I receive referrals from all over Wales and the south of England.

My current practice at Spire Cardiff Hospital is on a "named" referral basis (i.e.specifically required) and reflects my NHS practice. In addition to plain film and barium/ contrast radiology, I perform ultrasound, computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. I perform upper gastrointestinal endoscopy on an open access basis, and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) when appropriate.
    Personal profile:
I enjoy radiology, and have been fortunate to make key service developments in gastrointestinal cancer care. This has provided me with opportunities in both research and education on a national and international level.

I have played guitar and sung with numerous bands over the years, and currently play blues harmonica with a South Wales band. I enjoy cricket and rugby, although the latter is purely a spectator sport nowadays. I still manage to find time for my wife and three children.
