Spire Cardiff Hospital fertility clinic is a satellite centre of the London Fertility Centre (LFC) which is one of the longest standing independent fertility centres in the UK, and has been established in central London for 20 years. It has some of the leading live birth success rates in the UK as well as an international reputation for fertility service excellence. LFC has pioneered the way in fertility techniques, drugs and equipment, many of which are now used in fertility centres world wide.
Couples or individuals can have tests and preparation for any fertility treatment at Spire Cardiff's fertility clinic, whilst benefiting from LFC expertise iin the final stages of treatment. Our individualised approach means that every couple will vary in how their treatment is planned and managed ensuring that your needs as a couple or individual are met.
The clinic is able to undertake treatment planning for couples at all stages of their fertility care. Whether you're about to embark on this journey or whether you have already undergone treatment cycles, the specialists within the centre are experienced throughout.
We run our practice in conjunction with the NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) guidelines and HFEA (Human Fertilisation Embryology Authority).
Fertility tests and screening
If you have never been investigated and you would like to know your fertility potential you might benefit from our special fertility screening. This service will enable your consultant to establish a potential cause of any fertility problems and discuss available treatment options.
- Consultation with one of our fertility specialists: Mrs Arianna D'Angelo and Mr Anthony Griffiths
- Blood tests to assess ovarian reserve and ovulation
- Microbiological screening
- Ultrasound and/or HYCOSY for tubal patency

Fertility treatment options
If you have already been through the diagnostic stages, our consultants will suggest and tailor the best fertility treatment for you. We are able to offer treatment planning sessions to discuss and plan treatment options that meet your individual’s needs. Any subsequent HFEA-licensed treatment (including egg collection, embryology, semen preparation, insemination, embryo transfer, sperm and egg donation treatment, and cryopreservation of gametes and embryos) will then be performed at London Fertility Centre, 53 Portland Place, London, W1B 1QJ.

Recurrent Implantation Failure and Recurrent Miscarriage
If you have already experienced recurrent implantation failure or recurrent miscarriage you might benefit from our expertise in suggesting a large range of tests and treatments available such as thrombophilia screening, immunological tests including Natural Killer Cells (NKc) and genetic screenings (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Screening PGD/PGS). Donor Treatments
If you are a single woman or same sex couple we are able to offer a large choice of donor sperm being our sperm bank one of the largest in the country. Egg donation programme and surrogacy also available.
