Professional profile:
I qualified in 1997 from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College in London, and after concluding my basic surgical training completed an MD degree for research undertaken on rotator cuff pathology at the University of Oxford. My specialist orthopaedic training took place on the Severn training rotation with sub-speciality fellowship training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.
I was appointed as a Consultant at the University Hospital of Wales in August 2010.
My clinical interests include shoulder/elbow arthroscopy and joint replacement surgery and I offer a ‘one-stop’ clinic consultation with ultrasound imaging and guided injections.. I retain a particular interest in tendon disease and its treatment.
I was awarded the Robert Jones Gold Medal by the British Orthopaedic Association, the Kessel prize, from the British Elbow and Shoulder Society on two consecutive years and the Henry Smith research scholarship from the Royal College of Surgeons.
