Current NHS post:
Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant
Professional profile:
I grew up in Neath, qualified from Cardiff’s University of Wales College of Medicine in 1997 and completed my basic surgical training in South Wales. My higher surgical training was in the Midlands with my sub speciality training at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire renowned orthopaedic department. In 2009-10 I furthered this speciality training with a year long Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgery Fellowship in Adelaide, Australia.
It was always my intention to be a Consultant in South Wales. On my return from Fellowship I was appointed to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital as Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist interest in Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgery.
My orthopaedic work at Spire reflects my NHS practice. My knowledge and practice are kept current and evidence based via my research interests along with regular speciality training courses and meetings both as faculty member and participant.
