Professional Profile:
I completed basic surgical training in Derby and Ipswich and was awarded first place and the medal for best candidate in part 1 of the FRCSI. After completing the general FRCS I joined the South Birmingham Trauma unit where I did Trauma and Plastic Surgery jobs while doing a MMedSci in Trauma and was awarded the Peter London Gold medal for the best thesis by Birmingham University. I then joined the All Wales Trauma & Orthopaedics Training programme. After finishing specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery I then spent a year completing a Fellowship in Toronto, Canada at The Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre, a Specialist Arthroplasty Hospital where I was trained in hip and knee arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty. I was then appointed to the University Hospital of Wales in 2007 as Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with an interest in lower limb arthroplasty.
