Clinical governance forms an important part of setting the standards for establishing our Centre of Excellence. That’s why we’ve published our clinical outcome data, which includes rates of MRSA infection, surgical site infection, returns to theatre and re-admissions - all specifically for orthopaedic patients. Our data forms part of the UK National Joint Registry so you can be assured that our high standards are always maintained and are regularly monitored. We also participate in the Welsh Healthcare Associated Infection Programme in collaboration with the National Public Health Service for Wales.
Education
It is important that the Centre of Excellence remains leading edge. That’s why we provide a regular programme of education for medical, nursing, theatre and allied health staff in orthopaedic surgery, as well as delivering an exemplary orthopaedic educational programme for referring physicians and physiotherapists.
No matter what your concerns are, we have a range of information to help you understand the choice of procedures, what they involve and the associated risks and benefits.
Research
Our centre continually seeks to improve surgical techniques and patient care through research. We also work with key innovators and manufacturers to ensure patients have access to cutting edge technology and prosthetic implants, such as the Gender-Specific knee implant and Menaflex synthetic replacement for knee cartilage, micro hip replacement, computer guided technology and minimally invasive joint replacement surgery.
