    Professional profile:

    Jonathan is a highly experienced Consultant in Sports Medicine and Rheumatology. He has almost unique experience having spent the previous eight years working with injured servicemen and women at Headley Court, the Military Rehabilitation Centre. He has worked at the highest level in Sport including as Physician to the London 2012 Olympic Games, and Physician to the Great Britain 2008 Paralympic Team in Beijing. He has also worked in professional football and other high profile sports.

    This experience has helped him develop his philosophy of aiming for the best possible outcome.

    “For every patient I see my aim is to help them reach their maximum potential, whatever the injury or illness they may have.”

    He is at the forefront of new developments in Rheumatology and is currently introducing musculoskeletal ultrasound to both his NHS and private practice. This has enormous benefits for patients allowing a more accurate assessment of disease activity as well as quicker diagnosis and targeted treatment.

    Jonathan completed his award Medical Doctorate on Tendinopathy. He is extremely proficient at helping patients with tendon problems. His publications in this area are among the most highly cited in the literature and he regularly lectures internationally in this field.

    Jonathan had a comprehensive training in all aspects of Rheumatology having worked at numerous major teaching hospitals including Guy’s and St Thomas’, St Georges’ and Bart’s and the Royal London.
