Paralympic star treated by Cambridge consultant

Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital Mr Per Hall amputated Paralympic sprinter Jonnie Peacock when he was 5 years old.

Taken from the Cambridge Evening News Saturday 8th September 2012

Per Hall, consultant pastic surgeon at Addenbrooke's said: "When I met Jonnie he was at death's door. He had meningitis and there was dead tissue in his leg which was poisonous. To give him a chance of living we took the important and difficult decision to amputate his leg and it helped him to turn the corner. It was part of a fantastic team that helped him then, and I wish we could have told him mother Linda at the difficult time that one day her son would win Paralympic gold."
