Louise Blades first started at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital back in 2003 as a Healthcare Assistant in the Daycare department.
"For me, working at the Cambridge Lea Hospital has meant development in all areas; professionally, academically and personally. I have been given the confidence to progress myself and to support others in doing so"
Working at our hospital encouraged Louise to persue a career in nursing, to which she left in 2005 to begin her training and qualified in 2008. Throughout her nursing training she worked for a year at Papworth Hospital and continued working at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital as a bank worker where she also trained in the endoscopy department.
Louise returned to Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital as a qualified Nurse in 2009 and was mentored by a colleage in the Daycare department. In addition Louise works 2 days a week in ITU. Since returning Louise has undergone various development opportunities including:
- Decontamination course
- Mentorship training
- Service delivery training (identifying key areas of improvement)
Louise's next aim is to progress into management where she is pursuing a course in management fundamentals with Spire Healthcare.
