Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) facility
The Spire Cambridge Lea Hopsital is the only private hopsital provider outside of London in England to have an Endoscopic Ultrasound facility.
EUS is a novel method used in the investigation, diagnosis and staging of gastrointestinal tract (UGIT) disease. It is an increasingly important technique for visualising the gastrointestinal tract including the pancreas, gall bladder and biliarytree and enables improved diagnostic accuracy for GI conditions.
Dr Nicholas Carroll has pioneered the development and use of EUS in the UK and is currently secretary of the national EUS body.
Patients whom may require EUS as part of their investigations will be referred to Dr Carroll by their consultant.
Consultants practicing outside of Cambridge may wish to utilise the facility and so are able to refer their patients directly to Dr Carroll at the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
