Background Information
Professional profile:

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University College London Hospital and the Royal Free NHS Trust.  I qualified from St Bartholomew's Medical School in 1984 and after basic surgical training and gaining my FRCS I embarked on a career in Urology.  After finishing my training I spent a year in the Concorde Hospital in Sydney Australia.

As a Consultant I have developed an interest in prostate cancer and bladder cancer and developed the laparoscopic radical prostatectomy service in Barnet Hospital.  I have used the Da Vinci Robotic System from 2010 and then in 2012 I became part of the pelvic cancer team at University College London Hospital where I routinely perform robotic radical prostatectomies for the treatment of prostate cancer, cystoprostatectomies (removal of prostate and bladder) and cystectomies for the treatment of bladder cancer.  I have performed over 200 laparoscopic radical prostatectomies and over 400 robotic radical prostatectomies.

In my Private Practice, I investigate, diagnose and treat patients with prostate and bladder cancer and perform transperineal prostate biopsies following multi-modality MRI in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.  I also perform benign prostate surgery/UroLift and scrotal/genital surgery.  I also see patients with most general urological conditions such as haematuria (blood in the urine), urinary tract infections, and female incontinence.  I like to take time to explain sensitive problems in plain English giving my patients the facts needed to help them come to a decision about their treatment in their own time.

Personal profile:

In my spare time I am a keen cyclist.
