October 2011
Spire Bushey Hospital has extended its paediatric services to include surgical procedures. To support our enhanced paediatric services we have appointed a new Paediatric Nurse Team made up of Registered Sick Children's nurses (RSCN's). The team covers key paediatric surgical sessions in ear nose and throat (ENT), orthopaedic, general surgical, urological, oral and plastic surgery specialities.
The service offers a wide range of treatments and operations - all available in the comfort of a local, clean and private hospital environment.
Children will be seen by a paediatric specialist consultant within the chosen area of specialty - whether it be dermatology, ENT, general surgery, oral surgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, general paediatrics, plastic surgery or urology - each of our specialists have comprehensive experience treating children within the NHS.
If surgery is needed, our young patients will be admitted at a mutually convenient time. A full out-patient service is available for children, including taking blood and minor procedure if necessary.
We know that when children need to come in to hospital, it can be an anxious time for the whole family – that’s why we offer children and their families an all-important opportunity to visit the hospital prior to admission, become familiar with the surroundings and meet the experts who will be involved in their care.
When a child comes to the hospital for a surgical procedure, they will stay in a private en-suite room, with a TV and DVD player. The rooms are large enough to accommodate a parent, wishing to stay over night.
