Lucy Jones is currently the Specialist Dietitian in bariatric surgery for Spire Bushey Hospital in Hertfordshire and the North London Obesity Surgery Service at the Whittington Hospital in North London www.whittington.nhs.uk . Her current role involves the education and nutritional counselling of patients undergoing gastric balloons, banding, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass. Lucy sees patients through group education sessions and on an individual basis in clinic.

She fully assesses patient's nutritional adequacy and makes recommendations to improve their diets, health and to maximise their weight loss. She is also actively involved in audit and research in bariatrics, striving for improved global knowledge. Lucy has a wealth of experience in bariatrics having previously worked as a bariatric dietitian at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and at the Homerton Hospital, both in London. Prior to this, she worked as a general dietitian covering a wide range of specialties at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Lucy has held teaching posts in the past, including lead lecturer for nutrition for the Essence of Care course at Kensington Community College. Externally, she chairs the London Branch of the British dietetic Association and acts as their media spokesperson, regularly appearing in the media for nutrition related stories.

Lucy enjoys keeping fit, regularly running and attending British Military fitness classes. Last year, she completed a half marathon and is continuing to strive to meet further fitness goals.
She has an interest in life-long nutrition and acts as the dietitian for the Baby Chef in her spare time; a company looking to improve baby weaning methods.
