    Professional profile:
    I am a Consultant Physician with a special interest in diabetes and endocrinology. I undertook specialist training in diabetes and endocrinology in the UK and subsequently through the University of Cape Town in South Africa. I spent a period of research into lipid metabolism at the University of Cape Town before taking up my first Consultant post in 1995. I returned to the UK in 1998 and joined the team at Watford General Hospital in August 2002. My areas of special endocrine interest include the management of thyroid disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome and adolescent diabetes. I have a strong interest in medical education and hold an Honorary Clinical Lecturer post with UCL/Royal Free Hospitals Medical School.



    Personal profile:
    The way in which I spend my free time is influenced to a large extent by the social activities and school fixtures of my two children. We all enjoy skiing and also like to get away for family holidays in Scotland and South Africa - hill walking and bird watching (in good weather!)

    I like to discover good food and wine. Consequently, I look forward to spending more time in my local gym this year!
