Sarah Denning runs ante-natal classes at Spire Bushey Hospital on Sunday mornings and occasionally on Saturdays. Sarah is a registered practising midwife at Watford Maternity Unit. Sarah works with Consultant Obstetrician Mr Richard Sheridan, offering continuity throughout pregnancy and birth for private obstetric patients.
Sarah says: "My classes will help you to gain confidence and to have an understanding of what happens during your labour and birth. Birth is a normal life event, but like any other, you’ll manage much better if you know something about it before it happens. Baby care and feeding are part of the course too; it may be hard to imagine now, but at the end of labour you’ll be a parent!
"My classes are designed to be small and friendly, with a maximum of 7 couples in a group. This way, we can be relaxed and comfortable, and have enough time to chat. It would be best if both you and your partner can be there but it doesn’t matter if you can’t – it’s fine to bring a friend, your mum or to come on your own. Many parents find that they form lasting friendships with other people that they meet at classes- after all, you’re all in the same boat!"
