Mr Al-Ghnaniem Abbadi trained at King’s College London and qualified in 1995. He also undertook his surgical training there and in South East London and Kent. During his training he held an academic appointment with King’s College London as a Lecturer in Surgery. Having spent his formative years at a leading international centre for the treatment of liver disease, he decided at an early stage to pursue a career in liver and pancreatic surgery.
This was followed by a period of training at Addenbrookes’ Hospital (Cambridge University Hospitals). It included a fellowship in HPB surgery and a two-year fellowship in solid organ transplantation, which included training in liver, pancreas, kidney, and intestinal transplantation.
Mr Abbadi undertakes all aspects of surgery of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas. He has specialist experience and expertise in repairing complications of gallbladder surgery, surgery for complex abdominal tumours and sarcomas and radical resection of bile duct cancer. He also has a special interest in the surgical treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
