Mr Hashim is a consultant urological surgeon at the Bristol Urological Institute, director of the Urodynamics Unit at Southmead hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Bristol. He graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine in London and trained in Urology in the South West of England. Following that he undertook fellowships in Leuven (Belgium), Leicester and London in female and reconstructive urology. Mr Hashim specialises in functional urology including female urology, neuro-urology and urodynamics and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Fellow of the European Board of Urology. His main research interests include the overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, nocturia and urodynamics.
Mr Hashim is a member of the European Association of Urology Strategic Planning Office, the International Consultation on Incontinence Urodynamics committee and an editorial board member of Neuro-urology and Urodynamics. He has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters and books, and is a reviewer for several national and international journals. He is an invited speaker to national and international meetings and teaches urodynamics both nationally and internationally.
