I qualified and trained in cardiology at Cairo University, completing Masters and Doctorate degrees before moving to the United Kingdom for further training in 2007. Through a London deanery rotational training programme, I sub-specialised in adult congenital cardiology working at Great Ormond Street , Royal Brompton and St Thomas' Hospitals in London. After obtaining specialist registration in 2013, I gained more experience in congenital interventional procedures through a one year interventional fellowship at Evelina London children's hospital.
I specialise in the treatment of adult patients with congenital heart conditions. I deal with all aspects of their care, including echocardiography (ultrasound scans of the heart), diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterisation. I hold accreditation in echocardiography with the British Society of Echocardiography and the European Association for Cardiovascular Imaging.
In addition to my clinical work, I am an honorary lecturer at the University of Bristol. My research interest are in the behaviour of the right ventricle in patients with congenital heart disease.
