The Avon Obesity Service team have managed the care of over 600 patients who have had weight loss surgery at Spire Bristol Hospital. The multi-disciplinary team work together to ensure the best care for all patients, both before and after surgery. The team run a regular forum to offer patients on-going support and the opportunity to meet with people on the same life-changing pathway.

The Avon Obesity Service weight loss surgery team at Spire Bristol Hospital consists of Consultant Weight Loss (Bariatric) Surgeons, Consultant Physician, Anaesthetists, Specialist Bariatric Nurse, Specialist Bariatric Dieticians, and the administration team.
We have two highly skilled weight loss surgeons, both of whom are on the specialist register of the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) and run the regional weight-loss surgery service in the NHS. Our specialist endocrine physician and diabetologist as well as our bariatric nurse specialists, dedicated dieticians, anaesthetists and radiologists also work within our specialist NHS practice, ensuring extensive experience in helping patients in their weight loss journey. The team is supported by other surgical and medical professionals including psychologists, cardiologists and respiratory physicians, ensuring you receive the care required to prepare you for weight loss surgery and provide you with the support you need following your procedure.
