I trained in London as an undergraduate and postgraduate and developed an interest in surgical oncology and in particular breast cancer whilst I was at the Royal Marsden Hospital and at St George’s Hospital. I took up the post of consultant in surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary in 1995. I began offering a breast reconstruction service immediately and have a particular interest in this aspect of treatment, when required for breast cancer. I have published extensively on various aspects of breast cancer treatment. I am currently director of the Bristol Breast Unit and research lead for our regional breast cancer network.
