My practice is predominantly hip related, although I do perform around 20% knee replacement also. My training was with Professors Learmonth and Bannister, followed by a fellowship in Toronto with Professor Waddell. I perform over 150 hip replacements per year, and have additional expertise in treatment of young adult hip disease. I use a muscle sparing approach which allows patients to mobilise rapidly and with full muscle strength straight way. My chosen implants are backed up by published evidence to give confidence in their long term performance.
I can empathise fully with your desire as a patient to regain full function from your joints. I have an active lifestyle myself with two lovely children and maintaining fitness by competing in triathlon races, completing Ironman yearly for the last two years.
