Professional profile:
Desmond Nunez was appointed as consultant Otolaryngologist head and neck surgeon to the North Bristol NHS Trust in October 2001 and obtained clinical senior lecturer status from the University of Bristol. In 2006 he was appointed ENT Director at North Bristol NHS trust and was promoted to Honorary Reader by the University of Bristol in 2009.

Mr Nunez had six and a half years experience as a substantive consultant and honorary senior lecturer with the Grampian University Hospitals NHS Trust in Aberdeen before taking up his posts in Bristol. He completed his senior registrar training at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham in 1995, supplemented by sabbatical attachments in New York and California.

Mr Nunez has a wide experience in general ear, nose and throat surgery including endoscopic sinus surgery, rhinoplasty and botulinum toxin therapy, but maintains a sub-specialist interest in diseases of the ear and hearing.

He has a continuing interest in research and medical education, having over 70 publications in peer reviewed journals or text books. Mr Nunez is an assistant editor of the Journal of Laryngology and Otology.
