Professional profile:
I trained at the Royal Free Hospital Medical College, Hampstead, London and was awarded the qualification MB BS by London University.

I had diverse neurosurgical training in London at the Royal Free, Charing Cross and National Hospital for Nervous Diseases, Queen Square. I then went on to become a senior registrar in Leeds.

I was a visiting Fellow to the Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, Arizona, where I worked with two international figures- Dr Robert Spetzler and Dr Viktor Sonntag. The former is a world authority on vascular neurosurgery and the latter an internationally respected figure in diseases of the spine.
