Background Information 
Professional profile:
Born in Manchester and trained in Bristol and Oxford, David obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1984 and was awarded The British Orthopaedic Association Prize and Robert Jones Medal.

David is a regular instructor and lecturer at international conferences and training courses. He is often invited to speak at international meetings and instructional courses and can be said to be internationally renowned in Orthopaedic Surgery and Knee Surgery.

He has published widely, particularly on knee ligament reconstruction and the use of minimally invasive techniques. David is honoured to be the only UK member of the editorial board of the world's foremost journal for Knee and Shoulder surgery research and publication the American Journal of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is also appointed to the editorial panel of Current Orthopaedics and Related Research.

Having played professional basketball and represented his country (Basketball for England Juniors and Rugby for Lancashire under 19's) and still a keen sportsman, he has a particular interest and reputation in the field of sports injuries.
